Paul Oaten is a freelance website creator and web services provider based in Bath.
In the past, he has worked as a management development trainer, a Microsoft Lecturer, in various IT support functions and as Senior Systems Admin for a UK book retailer.
In 2006, he started a freelance business providing computer support for home and small-business customers. The business quickly transitioned and now focuses entirely on building websites for small businesses & non-profits and also providing related services such as ongoing support and website maintenance, website audits, etc.
“When I work with a client, I take steps to understand their business, goals and expectations by listening carefully, educating when required and managing expectations where necessary. I believe this approach builds trust and helps me to develop and maintain long-lasting client relationships.”
Paul likes to provide clients with a ‘one-stop-shop’ type of service. He uses WordPress for 90% of client projects and prefers to use the Genesis Framework by default.
Topics of discussion will likely include: establishing longer-term client relationships; researching clients, their business, the market, etc; getting the project delivered; how to move away from 100% client work.Hangout Event
